Elimu Community Center’s tutoring program is a cornerstone of its commitment to educational excellence and support for students from Kindergarten to High School. The tutoring services are designed to provide personalized assistance in various subjects, creating a nurturing and empowering learning environment for students to thrive. The program operates both in-person at the Elimu Community Center and virtually on Zoom, offering flexibility and accessibility to cater to diverse learning preferences.

The tutoring sessions cover a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to Math and Reading. Beyond subject-specific assistance, students receive homework help, GED, SAT, and TOEFL preparation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to academic success. The curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to address the individual needs and challenges of each student, fostering a deeper understanding of the material.

With a focus on holistic development, the tutoring program extends beyond academic support. Students are taught essential study skills that empower them to become independent learners. Furthermore, guidance is provided for Magnet Program preparation, College applications, and Resume Writing, preparing students for future academic and professional endeavors.

The program not only emphasizes academic achievement but also fosters mentorship and community engagement. Teenagers have the opportunity to volunteer and earn Student Learning Hours during the Summer Camp, creating a supportive learning community within the center.
